All the fun of the final - the Junior Star Singer Songwriter final

Acts from all across the UK came forward to compete at an exclusive recording studio for the Junior Star Singer Songwriter final on Saturday 3rd December.  Contestants were competing for the chance to have a track recorded with record producer Anthony Goldsbrough and then have this track played across 20 radio stations for the Junior Star Singer Tour next year in 2017. They also get the opportunity to sing live at a Music Awards ceremony in front of A & R music executives, TV and Radio personalities in Bristol.

To open up the show, singer-songwriter and musician Luke Richards, who was a contestant on the pilot Brooklands Future Starz (put link), and is now mentored by Amanda Neale sang one of his tracks.  He then talked about his talent for writing his 'Acou-Pop' tracks and how committed artists have to be to succeed in the industry.  Luke is now on the Junior Star Singer Development programme and will be appearing at some of the shows later next year.

Contestants met at 12 midday to talk first to Founder of Junior Star Singer Songwriter and presenter Amanda Neale about the show's line-up for the day and what was in store.  There was excitement and intensity all round!!  The contestants were brave as they were then asked to select their track from an array of silver envelopes, which they then had to perform for the competition. The tracks were a wide selection of popular commercial songs.  Last year in the competition, contestants had to sing a soundtrack for a TV show for Sky TV but this year there was more of a surprise for the competitors.

Before the finalists were split into separate groups in different studios to learn their songs, they had a warm up with vocal mentor Amanda Neale with a quick harmony for the new Junior Star Singer Jingle to get them buzzing.  Listen out contestants and listeners, this Jingle will be on the tour next year!!

Contestants were split into two separate groups to learn their track and after a while were given the chance to sing their track in an exclusive studio setting and then interviewed by Amanda and co-presenter Rachael Summers.  Take a look at the interviews here:

After contestants sang their hearts out to compete for the grand prize, they were able to cool down and chill out listening to musician, singer and songwriter Teide Bryce.  Teide just recently featured on a news story for London Live TV with Amanda Neale about the Junior Star Singer Tour.  She is also an original contestant from Brooklands Future Starz and has since been mentored by Amanda. Teide has appeared at several band nights and open mic nights around in her local area.  She is looking forward to performing on the Junior Star Singer Radio Tour next year which goes out on 20 radio stations around the UK. Teide has been influenced by the likes of Ed Sheeran and other great songwriters and guitarists in her music.

After Teide performed, special guest on the tour and singer-songwriter Georgia made an appearance to talk about her new role as Junior Judge next year on the tour.  Georgia has had her demo produced by Anthony Goldsbrough and after appearing on several shows for JSS this year, has just had her first promotional video done.  She will be starting her new EP next year and be mentored by Amanda Neale.

A fun-packed afternoon was had by all, with all contestants nearly due to return back home to wait in anticipation for the result the following week announcing the final winner.  But it was still not the end, as Amanda had a surprise for them all.  A chance to be choreographed for the Junior Star Singer Promotional Video 'Livin the Dream' which will be publicised next year.  Choreographer Shereka gave them some simple steps to learn to Rachael Summer's track 'Livin the Dream' which she wrote early this year.  The track will also be used to promote the Junior Star Singer tour next year and previous contestants will be invited to appear in the music video which will be filmed later on in the year.  Check out Shereka and co-host Rachael gettin' on down with contestants at the end of the show!

So fellow listeners and tuners into Junior Star Singer, we are now eagerly awaiting the result from Anthony Goldsbrough and Adam Faires.............................................stay tuned this week as the winner will be confirmed on the site and told to all the radio stations involved in this year's tour.

Stay tuned!!!!

The competition was the idea of Amanda Neale, who wanted to create a platform for young performers to be able to demonstrate their singing and songwriting abilities. "Adult performers are well covered by a number of different shows, but there wasn't really anything that younger people could enter without feeling pressured," says Amanda. "Junior Star Singer Songwriter aims to provide a nationwide stage where young performers can show what they can do and hopefully give them the foundation for building a promising future in music."

"We've been delighted with the level of talent we've seen in this competition. It's going to be really hard to pick a winner!"
